German Lessons for Midgley Snelling
Midgley Snelling, a Weybridge firm of Chartered Accountants recently had on secondment a senior member of staff from a German associated firm, to study UK tax and accounting practice.
Christian Hübner from Dr Schmidt-Wilke & Partner in Magdeburg, in the East of the country, spent two weeks in Weybridge as part of an exchange programme organised by global accountancy association MGI, of which both firms are members.
During Christian’s two weeks in the UK, he spent some time studying UK tax theory and practice, UK accounting measures and tax compliance work, as well as helping to compile some updated tax records for the Midgley Snelling website, gaining an insight into the workings of the tax system.
Christian also accompanied members of the Midgley Snelling audit team on client visits, to gain experience of ‘front line’ UK audit work.
As well as providing his own input on Midgley Snelling’s work, Christian was also able to take his additional knowledge back to Germany, to the benefit of clients there who may be considering doing business in the UK.
