We are seeking an experienced audit senior with a background in accountancy practice, used to working across multiple clients within audit. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys client interaction and being part of a collaborative team.
Are you the right person for the job?
- ACCA/ACA part or newly qualified
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards.
- At least 3 years’ auditing experience working across multiple clients
- Confident in leading audit engagements from planning through to completion
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards
- Experience in preparing and auditing consolidated financial statements an advantage
- Enjoy supervising and mentoring junior audit staff
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas and functions
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational and presentational skills
- Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients at different levels of accounting knowledge
- Self-managing with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
What will your role look like?
- Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion for a portfolio of clients and report directly to manager/partner.
- Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Identify and communicate audit issues and recommendations to clients and senior management.
- Prepare financial statements from trial balance ensuring disclosures are in accordance with financial reporting standards
- Liaise with clients to build positive relationships and ensure timely delivery of audit work.
- Assist in developing audit strategies and risk assessments tailored to each engagement.
- Assist in consideration and implementation new audit tools including AI
- Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and ensure work is completed to a high standard and on schedule
What can you expect in return?
- Core hours 9:00 am – 5:30 pm (flexible working available after probation, e.g. 8–4:30 or 10–6:30)

- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays rising by 1 day each year for trainees / 25 days plus bank holidays for fully qualified

- AAT qualified, ACCA part qualified or QBE
- Between 3 to 5 years bookkeeping/accountancy practice experience working across multiple clients
- Confident in preparing VAT returns and management accounts
- Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and management accounting principles
- Proficiency in Xero and QuickBooks Online (Sage experience is an advantage)
- Good understanding of UK VAT rules; foreign currency and cross-border VAT knowledge desirable (training can be provided)
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas and functions

- Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients at different levels of accounting knowledge

What will your role look like?
- Maintain bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, including sales and purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, expenses, credit cards and intercompany transactions
- Process foreign currency transactions and reconcile multi-currency bank accounts
- Provide client services such as raising sales invoices, credit control and handling supplier/employee payments
- Prepare management accounts tailored to client needs, including prepayments, accruals, depreciation and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and submit VAT returns for UK and Non-UK transactions, ensuring compliance with current rules
- Assist with VAT registrations, deregistration, and ad hoc client queries
- Liaise with clients regularly, providing support, advice and resolving queries
- Use cloud-based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) and AI tools such as Hubdoc or Dext
- Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and ensure work is completed to a high standard and on schedule
