Kelly Naude, Audit Senior and Tom Ward, Senior Auditor at MGI Midgley Snelling LLP recently attended the MGI Worldwide Young Talent Meeting held in Frankfurt.
This is a unique event, hosted by MGI Europe and MGI UK & Ireland, to bring young people together and provide them with opportunities to build their network and learn and engage in professional discussions.
One of the highlights for Kelly and Tom was guest speaker Shil Shanghavi, from Australia. He ran an interactive workshop on communication within a professional networking setting. Kelly said they were very “impressed and inspired” by the workshop.
One of the main topics covered by Shil was ‘how to be interesting’ in their professions. Something that many of the attendees find challenging.
He provided many creative techniques for the young professionals to try with their partners, some even being brave enough to practice facing a room full of delegates.
When reflecting on her experience, Kelly said, “One of the main takeaways of the conference for me was how large the network really is and how creating connections within the network can develop you as a professional and in your professional relationships – the world really is your oyster, if you want it.”
The Frankfurt trip was a valuable experience for our young employees that emphasised the significance of building a strong network within MGI to further enhance our client support.
