Surrey accountants roll up sleeves in support of local disability charity

Leading Surrey chartered accountancy firm MGI Midgley Snelling LLP recently swapped spreadsheets for spades as part of a rewarding day of volunteering at White Lodge in Chertsey.

The local charity, which supports over 1,200 individuals of all ages with disabilities across Surrey and beyond, welcomed a team from MGI Midgley Snelling LLP to help maintain the gardens at Rendezvous, White Lodge’s dedicated adult services hub.

The day saw the team enthusiastically tackle tasks such as weeding, jet washing, and working in the sensory garden, all to help create a welcoming and therapeutic outdoor space for the charity’s users.

A guided tour of White Lodge’s facilities was also provided, offering an insight into the breadth of services the charity delivers, from physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to specialist nursery care, speech and language therapy, short breaks, and fitness programmes.

James Clerkin, Partner at MGI Midgley Snelling LLP, commented: “It was good to see the incredible impact White Lodge makes first-hand. A huge thanks to Mike and the team for their warm hospitality. Participating was both inspiring and incredibly rewarding.”

White Lodge costs approximately £3 million a year to run its vital services, a large portion of which must be raised through voluntary donations.

Commenting on the experience, the team at MGI Midgley Snelling LLP expressed their admiration for the charity’s staff and facilities, and their commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community.

White Lodge encourages individuals, community groups and local businesses to get involved through volunteering, fundraising, or corporate partnerships.
