Executor services
When drawing up a will, your solicitor may suggest appointing a family member as the executor. If a family member is appointed, it is easy to underestimate the amount of work this will involve at what is already a very trying time.
Appointing a solicitor or bank as executor or to deal with obtaining the grant of probate, calculating and paying any inheritance tax due, settling any other expenses and collecting in and distributing the assets can be an expensive exercise, especially if part of their fee is based on the value of the estate.
MGI Midgley Snelling LLP can assist.
We have probably already been trusted with advising you on tax and other matters and so have a good understanding of your affairs and needs. Therefore, we can easily take on this burden, either as sole or joint executor or simply as an adviser.
We will only charge for the actual time spent – thus not only removing this responsibility from your family in a cost-effective way, but also ensuring that your wishes are carried out in an impartial manner.
If you would like to discuss us assisting your family or acting as your executor, please contact us for more information.
Please also download a copy of our free Estate Information Booklet, which will be of great help to whoever you appoint as executor.
